In response to a growing number of clients, we continue to expand with the appointment of Sophie Andrews to our Private Client team. Sophie qualified with international firm Charles Russell, gaining a number of years of invaluable experience before joining Callaghans. Belinda Butler-Smith, Partner, said "Sophie balances experience, knowledge and understanding with empathy and a personal approach and we are delighted to welcome her to the team"
Sophie is particularly experienced in drawing up Wills. Sophie commented "It is extremely important to have an up to date Will so that your assets are left to the people you choose on your death. If you do not make a Will, your assets will pass in accordance with the Intestacy Rules which may not benefit the people you would like, particularly if you are unmarried. A Will also provides the opportunity for parents with children under the age of 18 years to appoint guardians. These are the people who would look after your children should they be left without parents". Sophie works on all private client matters, including Inheritance Tax planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate.
